Milia Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Welcome to Milia. Milia is a shared space and instant messaging app for family and close friends, built by AppForges ("we", "us") — iOS Bundle ID: com.appforges.milia. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use Milia.

This policy is written for what the current version of Milia actually does. We follow a data-minimization principle: we only collect information necessary to provide the service. By using Milia, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information Milia uses AppForges unified account sign-in (based on OIDC). When you sign in with your phone number or email, we collect: - Phone number or email address - Nickname and avatar (if you set them) - A unique account identifier

2.2 Messages and Images When you use the chat features, we process: - The text messages and images you send - Message metadata (such as timestamps and the conversation they belong to)

2.3 Device Information and Push Tokens To provide the service, we collect: - Device model, operating system and version, app version - Device identifiers - Push notification tokens (Apple APNs / Google FCM)

2.4 Logs To keep the service stable and diagnose problems, we may record necessary operational logs and crash information.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to: - Provide instant messaging and shared space features - Sync messages across your devices and deliver messages sent while you were offline - Send push notifications for new messages - Verify your identity and manage your account - Keep the platform safe and prevent abuse - Comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not use your personal information for purposes unrelated to the above, and we never sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

Milia relies on the following third-party services: - AppForges unified account: sign-in and authentication (OIDC) - Apple Push Notification service (APNs) and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): delivering new-message notifications to your devices - Cloud infrastructure providers: server hosting and data storage

We do not share your personal information with third parties except: - When required by law, regulation, or legal process - When necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of us or other users - With your explicit prior consent

5. Data Storage and Security

All network traffic is encrypted in transit with TLS. To support offline message delivery and multi-device sync, your messages and images are stored on our servers.

Please note: Milia does not currently provide end-to-end encryption. We protect data on our servers with transport encryption, access controls, and internal permission management, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Milia caches some data locally on your device (inside the app sandbox) so conversations open faster and remain viewable offline.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

While your account is active, we retain your account information, messages, and images in order to provide the service.

You can delete your account at any time in the app: go to Me → Settings → Account Security → Delete Account. You can also email privacy@appforges.com to request account deletion.

After your account is deleted, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period (generally no more than 30 days), except where retention is required by law.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to: - Access the personal data we hold about you - Correct inaccurate information - Delete your data (by deleting your account in the app or contacting us) - Withdraw consent you previously gave

To exercise these rights, contact privacy@appforges.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

Milia is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact privacy@appforges.com and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you through in-app notices or similar means. The "Last Updated" date at the top shows the most recent revision. Continuing to use Milia after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
