This policy explains how AppForges (Qiheng Technology, “we” or “us”) handles screen images and local preferences in Snimple, our macOS screenshot app. Snimple requires no account. The app itself makes no network requests, has no server or cloud screenshot storage, and includes no advertising, analytics, or third-party data-reporting SDKs. We do not collect screenshots, personal information, or usage data through the app.
This policy covers the Snimple app. Data handling by the product website you choose to visit, by email services when you contact us, or by another app to which you send a screenshot is outside the app's own processing.
Snimple needs the macOS Screen Recording permission to capture your screen when you ask it to. The permission is used only for the app's region, full-screen, and delayed screenshot features. Snimple does not record screen video or system audio and does not use your microphone. You can revoke permission in macOS System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording; screenshot features will then stop working properly.
Capturing and annotating images happen locally on your Mac. Images being edited are held temporarily in app memory and are not kept in an in-app history after the capture workflow ends. Snimple does not automatically upload, sync, or analyze screenshot content.
You can copy a screenshot to the system clipboard, save it as a local file, or drag it into another app. You and macOS control clipboard contents and saved files; Snimple cannot delete those copies for you.
You can also choose to pass a screenshot to an app or service through the macOS system share sheet. Snimple does not upload screenshots on your behalf. The recipient may transmit or store the image under its own practices. Check the recipient and its privacy policy before sharing.
Keyboard shortcuts, save location, sound options, and other preferences are stored only in local app settings. Snimple does not sync them to iCloud or our servers. You can adjust preferences in the app or macOS. Use the appropriate macOS controls to delete saved screenshots, clear the clipboard, or remove local app data.
Snimple has no accounts, does not collect or sell personal information, does not run usage telemetry or ads, and does not include third-party data-reporting SDKs. We therefore have no personal data collected through Snimple for you to access, correct, or ask us to delete. If you email us, the email service processes the message and any information you choose to include so we can respond. Please avoid attaching sensitive screenshots that are not needed for your request.
Snimple is not specifically directed at children and does not knowingly collect children's personal information through the app. When capturing a screen, follow applicable rules and respect others' privacy.
If Snimple's data practices change, we will update this page and its effective date and provide additional notice before the change takes effect where appropriate. The released app and its App Store privacy disclosure must remain consistent with this policy.
